Care Instructions

The following guidelines are recommended for care of your Emotional Baggage products:

General Cleaning
As many of Emotional Baggage products contain leather features and metal hardware, machine washing is not recommend. For overall cleaning, please refer to guidelines below.

Fabric
A protective spray (such as ScotchgaurdTM) can be sprayed on fabric areas of all products. Avoid spraying leather features or trim as this may cause marking. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions before using any protective sprays. Liquid spills or stains on treated fabric areas can be spot cleaned by blotting the entire fabric area with cold, mild soapy water and a cloth or sponge - do not rub. Ensure that the entire fabric area is wetted to avoid water marking when drying. Avoid wetting leather areas. Dry bag or purse flat in shade with lining pulled out to assist with drying.

Leather
Please note, leather is a natural product and should therefore be treated with care. It is recommended that a leather conditioner be used on the leather areas of your bag or purse to maintain durability and prevent the leather from cracking or drying out with use. To prevent stains from water or spills on leather, use a leather protective spray containing a water-repelling agent. Always follow manufacturer’s instructions before using any protective sprays. Avoid rubbing your bag against abrasive surfaces (e.g concrete!) as this can scratch and damage the soft leather surface.

Denim
Denim is used widely in the Emotional Baggage product range and is washed and prepared before use. Although care is taken to ensure the quality of all our fabrics and materials, denim in particular is designed to fade with use. Avoid allowing darker denim colours to rub on light-coloured clothing fabric as colour transfer, while unlikely, may occur due to the dyes used in the manufacture of denim. This is an inherent characteristic of denim and Emotional Baggage cannot be hold responsible for fading or for the transfer of colour to lighter coloured clothing items.

Emotional Baggage cannot be held responsible for damage to purchased products caused by the use of fabric and leather protectors, dry cleaning, machine washing or damage due to overuse/wear and tear.
